FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
“What makes these stall mats different from all the others on the market?”
Over 15 years of research and hands on experience has gone into the matting that we offer today. The TRU-STALL product line has been designed and perfected by horse people for horse people to meet the ever-demanding needs of the equine industry. These mats are not by-products of some other industrial process. They are manufactured with only one purpose in mind, to provide you with the best stall flooring possible.
“Is how a stall mat made really that important?”
Absolutely. Stall mats fall into three basic categories:
Tread Belt Mats- These smooth, hard and flat-bottomed pieces of rubber are manufactured for use in industrial machinery and are sometimes held together by large metal staples. They are generally cut off of surplus or used tread belts and have a tendency to crack and break. Tread belt mats are slick and do not provide any traction or comfort for your horse.
Bound Rubber Mats- Bound rubber mats are made from used tires that are ground up. The grounds, which can be full of metal and nylon, are then dumped into a large vat of urethane and glued back together. This type of matting can be found in many local farm supply stores and are usually the cheapest mats available. Bound rubber mats are backed by short-term limited warranties because manufacturers know that no matter how strong a glue may be, it will wear out over time. This is especially true in the harsh conditions found in most horse stalls. These mats are known to curl and eventually crumble into pieces. Users of bound rubber mats can expect to replace them every three to five years.
Re-Vulcanized Rubber Mats- TheRubberman.com offers100% re-vulcanized mats that are made from clean shredded and natural virgin rubber. This rubber is free from all foreign materials including metal and nylon. The raw materials are melted down and remolded into solid sheets of rubber. Re-vulcanized rubber will not crack, curl, crumble, or dry rot. For these reasons and many more we extend a 10-year full replacement warranty on the TRU-STALL and TRU-FIT interlocking stall mats.
